Be careful in the days following this snowstorm!

We're enduring an incredible snowstorm right now! Estimations are the snow will be about a foot high when all is said and done. Right now, it's important for everyone to stay inside and wait until the harsh winds calm down and the snow stops piling up. However, once the storm is over and some time is passed, the conditions outside will still be dangerous. James Duboise learned this the hard way!

A bike accident you'd never expect

Some people like to bike down mountains, while others enjoy speeding off a ramp and seeing how high they can get. You'd expect those areas are where you're most likely to get hurt (and I'm sure if someone like me was biking down a mountain, that'd be true!) Go figure that it was during a relaxing bike ride in the city that one elderly man suffered an injury so bad it ruined his life.

When you get knocked down, we pick you back up

What happens when you fall down and suffer an injury that knocks you out of work? It's bad enough when an accident saddles you with expensive medical bills that you weren't prepared for. The additional problem of being entirely unable to work for weeks or even months as you recover makes it extremely difficult to deal with alone. Luckily for David Grah, he didn't have to.

Peaceful workout interrupted by construction mishap!

Working out's tough. It's hard to find the time, it takes a lot out of you, and most nights we'd all rather just flop on the couch and watch some good TV. So you'd hope at the very least that once you're in the middle of a workout, you'd be left alone! Unfortunately for one woman who was exercising in the Asphalt Green complex in NYC, a fluke construction accident changed her plans.

Poisonous hips? We can help!

Yesterday, we talked about the complications that can arise from a surgery done poorly. However, even when the surgery goes perfectly, there can still be issues. That's the situation that a lot of people find themselves in after getting hip implants from a company they thought they could trust!

Botched surgery? We can help!

Walter Paul Hoover suffered a back injury in 2009, and went to the veterans hospital in Missouri for a corrective surgery. What was supposed to be a simple procedure that alleviated his aching back turned into a far more complex problem that took years to get under control.

What injuries do we cover?

It's a crazy world out there, and sometimes despite your best efforts, bad things happen. Yesterday we covered the story of a woman who was hit by a truck while she was minding her own business. We're going to make a point of covering a wide range of cases like that in the coming weeks, but for the time being, it might make sense to go over some of the most common injuries and accidents that we cover.
