Great news, everyone! Your favorite Pre-Settlement Funding firm has been officially recognized by the New Jersey Law Journal as one of the best companies in the industry. Considering we just got started a few months ago, it's a pretty significant honor to be ranked among companies that have been doing this for years.
Updates
We're beginning May with a big announcement - we've partnered with eLaw, a robust online case-management service that allows users to research, track and monitor cases. There are over 100,000 professionals currently subscribed to eLaw, and several thousand people access the database every day.
It's hard to believe that it's almost 5 months since we started our journey at Simia. Since opening our doors, we've met incredible people who've inspired us to work harder, think smarter and fight longer to get them the justice that they deserve. We've shared some of their stories on our website, others across social media, and then there are the stories that are too personal and too tragic to even talk about publicly. Those are the ones that keep us up at night and keep us fighting throughout the day.
Simia Capital, the company taking the Pre-Settlement Funding industry by storm with low rates, innovative thinking and an emphasis on the client’s health and well-being, is honored to announce that it has entered into a strategic partnership with the web-based case management company SmartAdvocate®.
Every now and then, there's an oddity in the news that catches our attention and makes us ask "really?" That's how we felt this morning, as two stories from different parts of the country came in about accidents involving school buses. In Texas, a bus driver failed to yield and hit a car, sending himself and two other children to the hospital. At almost the same time, in Connecticut, a bus was rear-ended by a car that didn't see the bus slowing down in time. In this case, no one was seriously hurt.
It's a story we've seen all too often - something gets stuck in the cog of a machine and standard protocol is to power everything off, get a worker in there while he's being monitored, and make sure he's able to carefully extract whatever's causing the problem. Time and time again, innocent workers go into machines without realizing that the person responsible for turning everything off actually forgot.
None of really enjoy airports. They're busy, stressful, and even when you get through security and find yourself at the right gate, your reward is several hours sitting on a stuffy, crowded airplane. Most of us just want to get through our flight as painlessly as possible so we can get on with our lives. For one group of passengers on a United Airlines flight, things took several hours longer and got much, much worse than anyone anticipated.
We'd been hyping up Adam's speech for the past few weeks, and last night he finally got his chance to speak at Mandelbaum. For those of you who weren't able to make it or are just hearing about it now, I've got you covered. Here's a quick run-down of the main points Adam covered. (Naturally it won't be nearly as entertaining as listening to him speak, but it's the next best thing!)
Are you afraid of tight spaces? It's a pretty rational fear, and there are a lot of people who'd be uncomfortable with being stuck somewhere for even a few minutes. So imagine being trapped for 13 hours in a sewer, unsure if you're ever going to get out? That's the situation Roglio Esparza found himself in!
The industry that we're in is tough. We get through it with the support of incredible people and the partnerships and relationships we've built over the years. For that reason, we're excited to spread the word about the great minds over at Lawfty. We'd love to take some time to tell you about them, but who better to do it than Lawfty themselves?
